AUGUST 6. . . .Heading into August, the gardens are coming in, and we’re still indulging in fruit, lots of sweet and juicy fruit. Stashed in the fridge, ready for opening time, are some fabulous organic nectarines, peaches, avocados, oranges, grapefruit, lemons, limes, and grapes.
WEDNESDAY. . .last week our Summer Blues blueberries arrived on Wednesday; I’m looking for a few gallons of them to come again this week. AND the Brewer’s have promised a rainbow of oyster mushrooms, some Phoenix, European Blue and the Golden Yellow. Remember that Wednesday is Sami’s day too.
THURSDAY’s organic produce includes more good fruit, strawberries, nectarines, plums, mangos, as well as our usual baby spinach and some ginger. Thursday is also the big truck day. Don’t miss the sale price on Nutiva organic extra virgin coconut oil, or the sale price on the 50oz bottles of ALO Awaken. We’re trying Almond Dream yogurt and So Delicious coconut yogurt since our favorite, Amande, is off the shelf for a while. Sesame sticks are coming in, Erewhon cereal, chèvre logs, bulk whole grain spelt flour, wheat free Fig Newmans, and other good stuffs! Try the latest items from Honey Dew Naturals–the Chill roll-on essential oil stress relief, and the Honey Dew version of Off which is made with vinegar and good oils too.
FRIDAY is Destiny Organics truck day, and we’ll be looking for good greens, bananas, apples, possibly more strawberries, pineapples, and other good looking organic food.
Do August with gusto at Rabbit Food.
